In My Daughter's Eyes

I discovered the name for this blog months ago when I got a card for my birthday from my father.  It has the words to a song in it that blew me away.  I wanted to share with everyone the words of this song so they understand that this blog is dedicated to my amazing daughter and all she does to help me see this world so beautifully.

In My Daughter's Eyes by Martina McBride

In my daughter's eyes, I am a hero.
I am strong and wise,
And I know no fear.
But the truth is plain to see:
She was sent to rescue me,
I see who I wanna be, in my daughter's eyes.

In my daughter's eyes, everyone is equal,
Darkness turns to light,
And the world is at peace.
This miracle God gave to me,
Gives me strength when I am weak.
I find reason to believe, in my daughter's eyes.

And when she wraps her hand around my finger,
Oh, it puts a smile in my heart.
Everything becomes a little clearer.
I realize what life is all about.
It's hanging on when your heart has had enough;
It's giving more when you feel like giving up.
I've seen the light: it's in my daughter's eyes.

In my daughter's eyes, I can see the future.
A reflection of who I am,
And what will be.
And though she'll grow and some day, leave:
Maybe raise a family,
When I'm gone, I hope you'll see,
How happy she made me,
For I'll be there, in my daughter's eyes.

New Beginnings

I can't believe that it has taken me more than 2 years to start a blog about my precious little girl.  What prompted me after all the time?  Well, there is another little one on the way due Sept 20th.  I figured if I didn't start this now, I never would.   I had to ask myself many times, "Why blog?"   For me, there are several answers to that question.  First, to preserve the memories of my daughter and her growing up.  Second, to keep her many grandparents and other relative in various parts of this county and her relatives not in this country in the know.  Thirdly, as an outlet.  My daughter is amazing. I am totally biased. I realize.  I need a place to talk about all the wonderful things that she says and all the wonderful things that she does as she learns about this world.  My hope for the her is that she never stops discovering what an amazing world the Lord has given us.

So, we begin this journey of blogging.  Instead of starting when it was three of us, my daughter, my husband, and myself.  I start this with the 4 of us...one precious love still in utero.
